Optimization Overview

The optimization module searches for a combination of factor levels that simultaneously satisfy the criteria placed on each of the responses and factors. To include a response in the optimization criteria it must have a model fit through analysis or supplied via an equation only simulation. Factors are automatically included “in range”.

Numerical optimization uses the models to search the factor space for the best trade-offs to achieve multiple goals.

Graphical optimization uses the models to show the volume where acceptable response outcomes can be found.
